Carson joins MT+Co. after completing his articles here at the firm. He is always up for new challenges, and continuously wants to learn anything that is thrown his way, which he does with enthusiasm!
We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have him officially join our team after he was called to the bar.
“What drew me to MT+Co. was its approach to the practice of law. Valuing innovation over conventional, the people here are dedicated to fostering genuine connections with clients and finding new solutions to problems before they even arise. I’ve never met a group more dedicated to embracing change. In short, it’s an incredible team to be a part of.”
Carson provides a strong working interest in corporate and commercial legal matters, such as corporate structuring and reorganizations, advising clients on a variety of agreements, and general mergers and acquisitions work. Carson also works with our clients in relation to their workplace and employment matters.
In addition to his corporate and commercial work, Carson brings with him an undergraduate degree in Commerce from the University of Victoria, where he specialized in international business. He was lucky enough to spend a semester studying European law and commerce at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien).
Carson is involved in Peter A. Allard School of Law as an Allard Law Ambassador and as a volunteer with the Pro Bono Students Canada and Legal Education Outreach. He was also a finalist in the national Mathew Dinsdale Labour Arbitration Competition in his second year of law school, competing against law schools across Canada, where his team came in 2nd place overall.
Over the years, Carson has been awarded for his hard work, some of which include:
Carson’s love of travel sent him on a year long adventure exploring what the world has to offer between his undergrad and law school. But traveling isn’t Carson’s only passion; he also has a strong interest in languages. So much so, that he is fluent in written and spoken French, and he is working on his Spanish and German. He also has a great love of theatre.
But let’s not stop there. Carson was a member of the jazz and marching bands through his high school years, and then went on to study piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he also picked up the guitar, saxophone, and trumpet along the way.
While Carson would never pass up a chance to head out skiing or wakeboarding, he’s just as happy to spend the day playing around on the piano.
