Yvonne is a Project Manager who hails from a leading workplace law firm, where she managed multiple practices and developed a keen interest in both employment law and operations of a law firm. Out of the office, Yvonne devotes her spare time volunteering with Amici Curiae Friendship Society drafting legal documents and overseeing operations as General Manager.
Shout out: the Amici Curiae Friendship Society is a non-profit society offering workshops that help the public complete the legal forms necessary to present a matter to court or a tribunal. It is powered by paralegals, supervised by lawyers and supported by the legal profession. (No legal advice is given on anything other than completing legal forms.)
“I was ready for the next adventure in my career, and I was attracted to the reputation of MT+Co. I wanted to continue working in the legal field, while experimenting in operations, and this place offers that to me. I wanted to learn from and get exposure to the non-hierarchical, all-inclusive, and collaborative approach on which MT+Co. is built.
“Cherry on top: the people here are badass and live to work hard, play hard!”
Yvonne has managed files mostly in labour, employment, human rights, and post-secondary education law. Through Amici Curiae Friendship Society, she has assisted the public in all areas relating to poverty law. Yvonne has also participated in developing limited-scope workshops, such as the Amici Curiae 60s Scoop Workshop, hosted by the Indigenous Legal Community Clinic.
Speaking Engagements
Yvonne has a side hustle, I Gotchu Girl, an event management company, with her best friend.
She pursues her passion of all things signs + calligraphy whenever she can and is responsible for most of the new MT+Co. signage.
When not doing ALL THE THINGS, Yvonne enjoys hot yoga (which she somehow turns into a competitive exercise), propagating succulents, being clawed at or ignored by her cat, Cleocatra.
Once upon a time, she was an all-star cheerleader who competed regularly on the Worlds stage with Aboslute Cheer, and she was a varsity cheerleader at UBC.
+I’m not a lawyer, I just help run the place.
