Derek Odgers

Derek is an associate in our Indigenous Law Group and a member of the Métis Nation in Saskatchewan. True to his prairie roots, Derek is known for his friendly approach to client relationships and his dedication to finding practical solutions to their issues.

Derek’s practice focuses on economic development for Indigenous organizations and Indigenous governance including cannabis and real estate matters. He supports clients in government-to-government negotiations and legislative reform processes that facilitate regulatory environments where strategies can be implemented.

On the business law side of his practice, Derek helps clients draft resolutions and agreements and performs due diligence on corporate and commercial real estate deals.

Like many Vancouverites, Derek is a fitness enthusiast. He is also an avid concert attendee. Halloween is his favourite holiday – he loves spooky stuff and cats, too. Boo!
