On December 12, 2013, Rob Miller presented on “Structuring First Nations Enterprises” with Michael Wong of D+H Group LLP, Chartered Accountants.

Presented live via web conference by the CBA National Business Law Section, the presentation addressed aspects of structuring economic development enterprises for First Nations, either on their own, or in conjunction with non-First Nation participants. The session included:

• an overview of governance issues;
• the impact of the Indian Act;
• special considerations arising under corporate and partnership law; and
• provisions of the Income Tax Act.
