Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards Arrives in Vancouver

November 14, 2014

Have you heard of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA)? It’s one of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) largest and most inspiring events held globally. In a nutshell: it’s a big deal for young entrepreneurs.

Monday, November 17th, marks the inaugural event of the GSEA Vancouver Regional Competition at the SFU Beedie School of Business. The premier awards program for student entrepreneurs, GSEA provides students with the opportunity to promote their business on a larger scale, and form lasting relationships with other participants and the entrepreneur judges. Participation in local, regional, and online competitions results in worldwide media coverage for their businesses. Past participants have succeeded in creating thousands of new jobs and generating millions in revenue.

How the GSEA Competition Works

Applicants must be currently enrolled in school. As the owner, founder, or controlling shareholder of their company, they must be principally responsible for its operation. After going through the application process, selected students will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present their business in front of a panel of VIP entrepreneur judges at the Beedie School of Business. The GSEA Vancouver winner will receive over $75,000 in prizes and then compete in the GSEA National Competition in Toronto in February, 2015.

The national winner will be recognized as the ‘regional champion’ and attend the GSEA Finals to compete with the world’s top student entrepreneurs, and a chance to win over US$150,000 in cash and donated business services.
