Principal, Business Law + Transactions Group

Why MT+Co.?

“I can be a lawyer anywhere. But the chance to help build something fundamentally different presents itself very rarely in life. I want to be part of that.”

David’s practice focuses on middle market mergers and acquisitions and complex commercial transactions. He has significant experience negotiating and managing transactions for buyers and sellers across a broad range of sectors and ranging in value from small to very large. A significant portion of his practice involves work in the energy, forestry and other natural resources sectors, though it also includes transactions in the heavy industry, technology, retail, hospitality, and professional services sectors.

David brings a constructive and collaborative style to the negotiation process, focusing on the points that matter to his client, while always looking for practical solutions to issues that arise during a transaction. David ensures that he and his team always advance and never hinder the deal.

In addition to his transactional work, David acts for First Nations and industry on a broad range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, including:

  • Joint venture and partnership agreements
  • Service and supply agreements, including fibre supply agreements in the forest industry
