Teaching at the Ch’nook Aboriginal Management Program
Each year, MT+Co. teaches business law at the UBC Sauder School of Business’ Ch’nook Aboriginal Management Program. Ch’nook is a five month long professional development program that is designed to integrate core business disciplines with practical experience and leadership development, customized with specific Aboriginal content.
- contract law;
- real estate law;
- project finance;
- Aboriginal rights and title;
- taxation; and
- corporate law.
This year’s Ch’nook cohort was filled with diverse students representing Aboriginal groups from across Canada. Eager to learn and quick to ask questions, the students challenged even our most experienced lawyers.
If the calibre of discussion is any indication of talent, this year’s Ch’nook program will produce some sophisticated business leaders who will have a firm grasp on the issues facing their communities and businesses.
Thanks to the Ch’nook organizers and students for inviting us to participate in this great program. We look forward to meeting up again at the Ch’nook Golf Tournament and Dinner Banquet held at the Musqeam Golf & Learning Academy on June 2, 2016. We are pleased to contribute to the Ch’nook community by sponsoring this event.
As we continue to work with great programs like Ch’nook, we foresee these particular students becoming leaders in their respective organizations for years to come.
