Karissa is a senior associate in our Indigenous Law Group. She is originally from Saskatchewan and is licensed to practice law in both British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
Karissa is known for her thoughtful and calm approach to legal practice. She is knowledgeable about how her clients prefer to conduct business and the unique considerations that go along with Indigenous business dealings.
EXPERTISE
Karissa’s legal practice focuses on Indigenous real estate and economic development. She has significant experience navigating the different land regimes that govern Indigenous lands, including the leasing and development of Certificate of Possession, Land Code, and treaty settlement lands. Karissa also regularly advises clients on corporate structuring, business entity formation, Limited Partnership and Joint Venture Agreements, and buying and selling businesses.

Outside of work, Karissa enjoys spending time with her energetic Australian Shepherd puppy, getting out in nature, and enjoying Vancouver’s awesome culinary and brewery scenes.
