Tour de Cure Team Feature – Rob Miller

August 3, 2022 /

Next up on our team features is MT+Co.‘s CEO, Rob Miller! Thank you, Rob, for telling us why you ride!

Q: Why are you riding in Tour de Cure?

For me, fighting cancer is personal – it has touched both my family and my friends in profound ways. In my interactions with the disease, I’ve learned two things. First, outcomes are generally much better when there is early diagnosis and intervention. Second, research and advancement in treatment and diagnosis matters. This ride is about helping fund both better diagnosis/ intervention and better research.

Q: What’s your fundraising goal? How much have you raised thus far?

My personal goal is $5000.

Q: How do you plan on achieving your goal? What are your favourite parts/strategies for fundraising?

Beg, borrow and steal. This post is part of the first step – please give now to stop me from moving on to the third.

Q: If you’ve ridden before, tell us about your favorite or most memorable ride experience.
a. If you haven’t, what got you to join and what are you looking forward to?

Definitely not my favourite memory, but a memorable one: I made a (slightly inebriated) pact to do the Whistler Fondo with no training – and followed through. I don’t recommend that approach. One thing I am looking forward to is using the road bike I bought right before the Whistler fondo (and which hasn’t been used since) for one more ride.
