Currently in its 15th year, the Aboriginal Land Resource Management Forum provides a unique opportunity for members of the public and private sectors to meet with representatives from the Aboriginal community to discuss energy resource issues in Northern and Western Canada.
MT+Co. Co-Founder, Rob Miller, will be co-chairing this year’s event at The Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver with Merle Alexander, Partner at Gowlings LLP, from January 27-28th, 2015.
Forum Highlights
This year’s Aboriginal Land Resource Management Forum will focus on “developing strategies for building capacity in Aboriginal communities to advance the natural resource industry in an economically and environmentally sustainable way.” Features of the event include:
- Workshops on negotiation strategies and developing agreements – Jan. 26th only
- Keynote presentation – John P. Jurrius on “Developing Long Term Partnerships with Aboriginal Communities”

- Panel discussions
- Networking events
The Forum will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about effectively engaging with Aboriginal communities, enhancing the economic benefits of resource development for Aboriginal communities, financing Aboriginal community resource development projects and much more.
Speakers come from a range of backgrounds including law, finance, energy and Aboriginal.
