About

Sara joins MT+Co. as an articling student from the University of Victoria’s joint degree program in Indigenous Legal Orders and Common Law. She looks forward to working with each of our practice groups to develop her skills and explore her interest in several areas of law.

EXPERTISE

Sara previously summered at a criminal defense firm, where she developed a passion for navigating complex legal issues and situating them within a systems lens.

Before attending law school, Sara worked as a peer support worker at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre and later at the UBC School of Nursing’s Capacity Research Unit as a Research Assistant on a community-led pilot project. The project traced how trauma-and-violence-informed healthcare services can bridge allopathic and Indigenous healthcare models. This work led to the creation of Kilala Lelum Health Centre which works to address all aspects of health and wellbeing through Elder-led services.

WORTH NOTING

Sara is an avid skier and enjoys all things outdoors. She loves attempting new recipes and, more importantly, eating delicious food.
