As an experienced practice manager, Tanny sees the big picture while taking the time to notice the small details. For this reason, she tries to carefully consider problems as a whole before planning the steps required to solve them.
Tanny’s mission is to ensure that every aspect of her lawyers’ practice is as systematically organized as possible to maximize efficiency, create and maintain a smooth workflow, and free up time to better focus on helping clients with real-world issues.
Tanny began her legal career as a receptionist and then as a legal assistant in 2009. Those early years helped shape her identity and allowed her to explore a variety of areas of law: namely, wills and estates, family law, conveyancing, land development, and civil litigation. During this time she wore a lot of hats and learned to be resourceful in researching solutions to problems. After a few good years, she moved into a hybrid paralegal role at a prestigious labour and employment law firm, finding her focus and passion for civil litigation. The connections and lessons learned here brought her to MT+Co. (thank goodness!).
In 2018 Tanny joined MT+Co. as a practice manager and hybrid paralegal in MT+Co.’s Litigation and Workplace Law Groups. Having apprenticed under experienced paralegals for the better part of a decade, she was both liberated and daunted to finally step into the role she holds today. Tanny attributes her successes in her career to her humble attitude, inquisitive nature, and not being afraid of hard work!
Outside of the office, Tanny is a passionate watercolour painter. Although, these days her spare time is limited as she balances work and raising a young family. To unwind and destress she likes to run on the treadmill and listen to podcasts.
