About

Serin is a multifaceted lawyer who resolves our clients’ complicated legal issues using her experience in both environmental sciences and Indigenous law.

Serin prioritizes the practical application of legal solutions within her client’s context and strategies. Clients appreciate her thoughtful, informed approach to her work and her excellent communication skills.

Prior to joining MTCo., Serin worked in Toronto at a leading environmental and Indigenous law firm.

EXPERTISE

Serin works with First Nations to navigate complex regulatory processes, engage in natural resource projects, provide tools for on-the-ground reconciliation, and facilitate self-governance.

On the Indigenous law side of her practice, Serin works on matters involving consultation and accommodation, UNDRIP implementation, impact benefit agreements, dispute resolution, and environmental assessments and permitting.

She also guides businesses managing environmental liability and regulatory compliance and develops climate change strategies and solutions, including carbon credits.

WORTH NOTING

Serin escaped Toronto and moved to Vancouver to be closer to her family.

She has since made the most of her life here by exploring remote parts of the province by kayak, skis, foot, and bike. She balances these adventures with quality time in her garden, testing out new recipes, and fixing up a dilapidated cabin in Pemberton.
